1. Introduction

Rockville Evangelical Mission Church (“REM Church,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the REM Mobile App (“App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

• Sign-In Information:
  • Apple Sign-In: We may receive your name and email address. If you use “Hide My Email,” Apple provides a private relay email instead.
  • Google Sign-In: We may receive your name, email, and basic profile information.
• Account Information: We store your first name, last name, and email in Firebase to manage your account.
• Event/Donation/Volunteer Info: Information you provide when signing up for events, submitting forms, or giving online.
• QR Code Uploads: If you upload a Meal-Service QR Code, it is stored securely in Firebase Storage.
• Automatically Collected Data: Device type, OS version, IP address, usage logs, and crash reports.
• Optional Data (with your consent): Location (for event reminders), camera/photo access (profile uploads), and contacts (to invite friends).

3. Children’s Privacy

The App is family-friendly:

• Children under 13 may use the App with a parent’s or guardian’s assistance.
• We collect only minimal data necessary for church activities.
• No ads or commercial profiling are used.
• Parents may review or delete their child’s account at any time.

4. How We Use Your Information

• Create and manage your account
• Enable secure sign-in with Apple and Google
• Facilitate worship, volunteer sign-up, and donations
• Respond to support or prayer requests
• Improve app reliability and security

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. Information may be shared only with:

• Service Providers: Vendors who support app hosting, analytics, or donations
• Legal Authorities: If required by law or to protect safety
• Ministry Leaders: With your consent, for event coordination or prayer support

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain data only as long as necessary. You may delete your account at any time through the App, which will remove your Firebase profile and QR code. Deleted accounts are permanently erased from our systems.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including HTTPS encryption, Firebase Authentication, and Google Cloud security. However, no system is completely secure.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA), you may:

• Access or correct your information
• Delete your data and account
• Opt out of optional communications
• Withdraw consent for features such as location or contacts

9. International Users

If you access the App outside the U.S., your data may be processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
